Why roast coffee?
This journey started when I felt like God was asking me to open a coffee shop. Well, that’s a costly start-up, so I had the thought to sell roasted coffee in the mean time to save up for the shop. I had fallen in love with fresh roasted coffee and naturally wanted to share with everyone around me. I told my friend, Kelsey, this new vision. She responded with something totally unexpected. She told me that she felt like she was supposed to hand her business, Genesis Coffee Supply, over to me! So, as of last year, we now own a business!! Our first roaster was a small one pound drum roaster. Looking back, that felt like such a big step and super exciting to be able to make bigger batches at a time. I had no idea that the demand would quickly outrun the supply and we would need to be making some big decisions. In the fall of 2022, we jumped head first into Genesis Coffee Supply being a full time roasting business and invested in an awesome Bellwether roaster. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would be roasting coffee for our local coffee shop or be shipping it out across the country! But here we are, living the dream!!
